How to install your plug-ins
Always install a plugin in the Morning! Giving time to fix if anything goes wrong.
Download the plugin you would like (make sure it’s in the ‘Zip’ file format). If your unsure on what plugin you should upload, contact one of our developers
Log into the admin area of your STAGING website then do the following:
- Go to the plug-in section of your website
- Click ‘Add New’
- Click ‘Upload Plug-in’
- Upload the Zip file you downloaded before
- Click ‘Install Now’
- Click back through to the list of installed plug-in
- Activate your plug-in
Once you have checked the staging site to see if the plug-in is working and hasn’t broken anything, repeat the same process on the live site.
Updating your plug-ins
Always update a plugin in the Morning! Giving time to fix if anything goes wrong.
Log into the admin area of your STAGING website then do the following:
- Go to the plug-ins area on your website
- View installed plug-ins
- Check if there a plugins to be updated
- Is it a MINOR version update? (version 1.1 update to version 1.2)
- If yes, go ahead click update, versions will update one by one.
- Make a note of each update
- Test specific functionality for each update (cross test)
- Is it a MAJOR version update? (version 2 updated to version 3)
If yes, ask a developer. Pay attention to any notes & run these by a developer.

If nothing breaks on the staging site, repeat the same process on your live site.
WARNING: Heavy caching and optimisation occur when plug-ins are installed, and sometimes plug-ins can conflict. Please contact us if you are unsure or run into any problems when updating plugins.
